San Diego - day one
Short update on my first day at the con. Well, the biggest news is that I got to see Gatesville Company #1 in all its printed glory for the first time. The printing turned out GREAT. As with all the Speakeasy books, it's a very nice package, printed on good paper stock. I couldn't bee more pleased.
I got to do my first signing, did a couple of sketches, and met a lot of other Speakeasy creators. Hung with Andrew (from Parting Ways) and his lovely wife, then had dinner with them and Chuck (writer of Smoke & Mirror and Bitter Souls). I met Erik, Gatesvilles wonderful letterer and layout man - only briefly though, as he and his wife had been up for 42 hours and were just about to crash hard!
Afterwords, we met with some other speakeasy folks and had fun drinking and talking for a couple of hours at the hotel bar. A fun time was had by all.
I'll write another update tomorrow!
